Now in its 45th year, this juried exhibition is open to all current Friend Level Donors ($60+). This year’s theme — The Face of Friendship — invites artists to explore connection, collaboration, and the emotional resonance of companionship through visual art. Submissions may be individual or collaborative, literal or abstract, celebrating the creative community that supports the Arts Center’s mission.

A 2-day intensive artist development program focused on creative entrepreneurship — including strategic planning, artist statements, marketing, and business skills. Completion of the program and accepted strategic plan makes participants eligible for a $500 grant for implementation. Priority given to rural artists; open to adult visual artists (18+).

The Sedona Plein Air Festival takes place during one of the most beautiful times of year in Sedona, at the height of tourist season, and is supported by a highly experienced team of staff and volunteers. Sedona’s sublime landscape provides a stunning setting for on-location painting, and the Sedona Arts Center proudly carries more than 67 years of history in supporting artists and the visual arts.
As one of the oldest continuously running plein air festivals in the western United States, the 2026 festival will include special events in recognition of that longevity. Please Note: This year’s festival will be primarily invitational, with a limited number of juried-in artist opportunities available.

The Face of Diversity: The Big Gay Art Show

A vibrant juried exhibition celebrating creative expression by artists from the rainbow communities and their allies. Open to artists of all backgrounds, levels, and mediums — bringing diverse voice and energy to the visual arts scene.
CALL TO ARTISTS 15-18 Gallery 928 Youth Apprenticeship Program
Application Deadline: April 27, 2026 Notification: May 15, 2026 Program Dates: June 1–25, 2026
Sedona Arts Center invites talented teens ages 15–18 to apply for Gallery 928, a unique summer art apprenticeship that pairs young artists with an experienced master artist to design and create a public mural on the Arts Center campus. Up to 12 participants will be selected for this immersive program. Each apprentice receives a $500 stipend from Sedona Arts Center and three free college credits through Yavapai College, plus hands-on experience in the full public art process from concept to completion. Gallery 928 also helps emerging artists build critical professional skills — including teamwork, leadership, presentation, and resume development — preparing them for future opportunities in the arts.
The Northern Arizona Watercolor Society (NAWS) invites artists to submit work for Color of Light, a juried exhibition presented at the Phippen Museum in Prescott, Arizona. This exhibition celebrates excellence in watercolor and water-media painting and will be juried by Stephen Quiller, nationally recognized artist and author.
