Flagstaff Sustainability Office announces 2025 Sustainability Grant recipients

FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff Sustainability Office is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2025 Flagstaff Sustainability Grant cycle. The Flagstaff Sustainability Grant is a competitive grant program that funds up to $7,500 for community projects related to food, community health and climate resilience, energy, transportation, and waste.

“We can’t wait to see these community-led projects come to life each year! We want to applaud these awardees for their vision for a more sustainable Flagstaff,” said Mayor Becky Daggett.

City of Flagstaff Hosts Earth Day Celebration at Bushmaster Park on April 19

Attendees are encouraged to “move another way” to the event. Walking, riding a bike, or taking public transportation helps reduce the impacts on our world. To help us celebrate, Mountain Line is providing free service on all routes all day on April 19, and there will be a free bike valet at the event. For more information about bus routes, download the Mountain Line app. Attendees can also join the community bike ride, leaving from the Flagstaff Visitor Center at 10 a.m. To register please visit the Earth Day Celebration webpage

From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., join us for fun in the sun! Listen to live music, attend a free workshop, eat food from a local food truck, and discover dozens of sustainable-minded organizations and activities.

City of Flagstaff Neighborhood Sustainability Grants Open September 1-30th

FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff Sustainability Office and Sustainability Commission is pleased to announce that the annual application period for the Neighborhood Sustainability Grants Program is open from September 1st – 30th. The program inspires projects that enhance sustainability and foster community partnerships.

Grant awards of up to $7,500 are available. Groups, nonprofits, individuals, and businesses with sustainability-related projects within Flagstaff city limits are invited to apply. Specifically, the Sustainability Commission is seeking community-centered projects in the categories of food, waste, climate action, resilience, transportation, building energy, and public health. The Flagstaff Sustainability Commission made up of seven Flagstaff residents, will review and determine awardees.

The City of Flagstaff Sustainability Office is hosting a Fix-it Clinic on Saturday, July 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will be held at the Joe C. Montoya Community & Senior Center, located at 245 N. Thorpe Rd.
