FLAGSTAFF — As part of the City’s annual Road Repair and Street Safety (RRSS) program, lane closures are scheduled on N Highway 89 between N Country Club Dr and old Rte 66 for overlay removal and pavement marking. The work is schedule to take place from Monday, Sept. 29 – Wednesday, Oct. 1 between the hours of 5 a.m. – 5 p.m. Drivers in the area should expect delays.
FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff plans to replace select sections of sidewalk and curb and repave a portion of Cedar Avenue and West Street in the coming weeks. There are sections of deteriorated and cracked sidewalk and curb, and the asphalt roadway has numerous cracks and patches that need to be fixed. Asphalt repair includes taking off a thin layer of the existing surface and then repaving with new asphalt. Work is scheduled to begin on Monday, September 15, with plans to finish by early December (weather permitting). Work will occur along West Street/Linda Vista Drive, from the slip lane to Cedar Avenue, and along Cedar Avenue from West Street to the west side of the new Fourth-Lockett roundabout.
FLAGSTAFF — As part of the City’s annual Road Repair and Street Safety (RRSS) program, single lane closures are scheduled on N San Francisco St from Sept. 2 – 8 for street paving and pavement marking. The work may also necessitate short term closures of intersections along N San Francisco St between W Cherry Ave and W Columbus Ave. Motorists are asked to follow marked signage, be cautious of work crews, and expect delays when traveling through the project area.
FLAGSTAFF —The Arizona Department of Transportation, City of Flagstaff and their contractors are currently working on two projects along Cedar Avenue. We are happy to report that both projects are on schedule, with Cedar Avenue scheduled to be open to vehicular traffic (at Monte Vista Drive/Main Street and Fourth Street) by Monday, August 4.
FLAGSTAFF — As part of the City’s annual Road Repair and Street Safety (RRSS) program, northbound Beulah Blvd will be closed at Forest Meadows St on Monday, July 21 for pavement patching, this work is in preparation for the full pavement overlay scheduled in August. The closure will be in place for less than 24 hours. Southbound traffic on Beulah Blvd will not be impacted.
Additional work is also scheduled throughout the community under the RRSS program. Temporary lane shifts, lane closures, and/ or shoulder closures should be expected on the following roadways during the indicated timeframes:
FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff, their contractor, Eagle Mountain Construction, along with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), have reached substantial completion of the Beulah/University Realignment Project. With this work complete, all roads and the pedestrian underpass will be open and accessible to all users by the end of Tuesday, July 15. Remain alert as crews complete final clean-up operations throughout the coming weeks. Please be patient as you and your fellow motorists get used to the new roadway configuration and follow the marked signage to get to your destination.
FLAGSTAFF — Road repair and maintenance projects continue around Flagstaff as part of the annual Road Repair and Street Safety Program. Concrete removal work is scheduled to occur during the week of July 7 on Beulah Blvd, Lucky Ln, and the east side of Switzer Canyon Dr. During the week of July 14, pavement patching work is scheduled on William Rd, Switzer Canyon Dr, Kaspar Dr and San Francisco St.
This work will impact select areas of the roadway and will result in temporary lane shifts, lane closures and/ or shoulder closures. The City and its contractor are taking all possible measures to minimize the impact of this work on local residents and businesses.
FLAGSTAFF — The intersection of Riordan Dr and Riordan Ranch St will be closed overnight from June 16 – June 19, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Roads will remain open during the day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., with no daytime construction. Access to businesses in the area will be maintained throughout the project.
Lane shifts along Cedar Avenue will be in place during this work to maintain eastbound and westbound traffic along Cedar Avenue. Pedestrian and bicyclist access will be maintained through the area during construction. Motorists are asked to follow the marked signage/detour to get to their destination.
Starting Monday, August 26, Old Route 66 will be closed for up to 65 days between N. Cool Pines Road and N. Sherwood Forest Road to reconstruct the box culvert. During this period all traffic will be detoured along E. Pittman Valley Road.
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz – The City of Flagstaff and their contractor, Eagle Mountain Construction, along with the Arizona Department of Transportation, have finished the majority of the work associated with Phase 1 of the Beulah/University Realignment Project. With this work complete, Phase 2 of the project is set to begin. Phase 2 starts with construction of the new pedestrian underpass prior to surface improvements along Milton Road. Additional work includes the reconstruction of a section of University Avenue (future Fresquez Avenue) and Yale Street.
In order to safely install the new pedestrian underpass beneath Milton Road, the existing traffic pattern will shift. This shift will begin on August 19 and last through September 2024. With this shift, the southbound lanes along Milton Road will be detoured to University Avenue (future Fresquez Avenue) and onto the new Beulah Boulevard extension, utilizing the newly constructed roundabout, to Forest Meadows Street. The new Beulah Boulevard extension and roundabout will also be accessible by University Avenue, as shown in the detailed map below. Please note that northbound traffic will be closed along the new Beulah Boulevard extension, as well as northbound traffic on Yale Street. Northbound traffic on Milton Road, including eastbound access to University Drive, will be maintained during this traffic shift.
Large cranes and trucks will also be present to assist in the installation of the pedestrian underpass. Motorists are asked to follow the marked signage, travel at the posted speed limit, and should expect delays when traveling through the project area. Crews will be working extended shifts to expedite this work. Work may occur Monday through Friday, with occasional work on evenings and weekends. Motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists can expect traffic delays, lane closures and detour routes along Milton Road, University Drive and University Avenue until late 2025.

Work to implement a pilot project installing separated bike lanes on Butler Avenue will begin on Monday, October 18 and will be complete on Friday October 22. The project limits are Butler Avenue, from Milton Road to Sawmill Road.
Traffic control devices and lane restrictions will be implemented throughout the week and motorist are encouraged to seek an alternate route or be prepared for delays as they travel through the project limits.
