The Haunted Ice House Chills and Thrills this Halloween season on Oct. 31

FLAGSTAFF — This October, the Historic Ice House will transform from a relic of the past into the region’s most chilling haunted attraction: The Haunted Ice House, presented by Culture Connection AZ. Once a working ice factory before home refrigeration became common, the building will serve as the eerie backdrop for a terrifying immersive experience filled with dark history, sinister characters, and unforgettable scares.

Led by a tour guide, guests will encounter bloodcurdling thrills along their journey, and just might meet some of the Ice House’s most infamous spirits, such as The Hookman. Once an ice factory worker in the Ice House, he became obsessed with the steel hooks used to move massive ice blocks. Until one day his obsession turned sadistic…They say you can still hear the faint metallic screech of his hook and feel the chill of his wrath.

Or maybe you’ll meet the Ghost Bride. Abandoned on her wedding night, she wandered into the Ice House. Alone and heartbroken, she froze to death within its icy walls. Now, her spirit alternates between mournful sorrow and violent rage, punishing anyone who approaches. She searches endlessly for the love she lost, and any who cross her path may feel her anguish and fury.

Flagstaff’s talented actors bring these characters to life with chilling performances. Authentic set design, eerie lighting, and atmospheric soundscapes ensure visitors are immersed in the horrifying history of the Ice House from start to finish.

“This isn’t a haunted house for little kids—it’s a truly immersive and frightening experience,” said Amanda Black, organizer and Culture Connection AZ board member. “We wanted to create something that honors the history of this space while also delivering a spine-tingling night out for the community.”

The Haunted Ice House will be open on October 31st, 9pm – midnight at the Historic Ice House, located at 201 E Birch Ave in downtown Flagstaff. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at https://givebutter.com/hauntedicehouse or at the door. For more information, visit www.cultureconnectionaz.com and click Events.
