Meet Earth’s biggest sodium seekers

While it’s easy for us humans to get plenty of sodium in our diets, some of the world’s largest land animals have access to a pinch too little. A new study from NAU researchers showed that elephants, rhinos, giraffes and other large plant-eaters can only get enough salt in a few specific areas of the world, limiting their population growth.

A flexible doctorate

NAU’s hybrid Doctor of Physical Therapy program has allowed Sara Thomasson to learn while spending quality time with her husband and 1-year-old daughter. With the program’s unique combination of classroom learning and hands-on experience, Thomasson is well on her way to a fulfilling career helping people heal.

Hospitality’s next generation

The School of Hotel and Restaurant Management’s new motto: show, don’t tell. Rather than confining experiences to the classroom, HRM instructors are immersing students in industry spaces, giving them the practical experience they’ll need to lead and innovate in the hospitality industry.
