Our theme at this year’s event is how a love of reading and a sense of curiosity can profoundly change a person’s life.
Our keynote speaker (and this year’s campaign co-chair) Dr. Rima Brusi will share her story about how her life has been impacted by books and a love of lifelong learning. Dr. Brusi and her husband, Northern Arizona University President José Luis Cruz Rivera also will announce the results of this year’s $1.2 million campaign.
There will also be a special presentation from the Helios Education Foundation on the reading proficiency of students in Coconino, Navajo, and Apache counties.
We are also urging our guests to help support childhood literacy by bringing a new or gently used book appropriate for children up to age 10 to help fill our shelves for upcoming literacy fairs in the community.
During the annual meeting we will also welcome two new members to our Board of Directors, Trey Hudson of Findlay Toyota and Liberty Urias of Foothills Bank, and giving our thanks to outgoing Board members Chris Reed, Greg Clifton, Eric Scott and Bruce Blankenship.
