Willard Springs Green Waste Site temporarily closed to support Pocket Fire Operations

FLAGSTAFF — The Willard Springs Green Waste Site has been temporarily closed for public safety to support aerial firefighting operations for the Pocket Fire.

The site is being used as a staging area for fire suppression materials that support aerial firefighting efforts.

Willard Springs, which offers free green waste-only disposal on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Oct. 31, will reopen as soon as it is safe to do so. An announcement will be issued when the site resumes operations.

The Willard Springs Green Waste Site is located approximately 15 miles south of Flagstaff, just west of Interstate 17 at the Willard Springs Road exit (Exit 326). Willard Springs does not accept bulk or household waste. The last load of green waste is accepted through the gate at 4:30 p.m. each operating day.
