As the days get shorter, check out these fun science and history programs around Flagstaff!

There are many virtual and in-person science events around Flagstaff this winter. See the list below to make sure you don’t miss out!

November 7: Join NAU Global Languages & Cultures Department for a night of music, language and art from around the world as performed by members of the NAU community. This event will be held at Firecreek Coffee from 3 – 5 PM.

November 10: Join Lowell Observatory as they partner with NASA in celebrating the upcoming launch of the long-awaited James Webb Space Telescope. This event is free and virtual. You will have the opportunity to ask questions to Lowell Educators and a NASA special guest! Tune into the special event here.

November 16: NAU CAL Film Series presents a screening of the 2013 documentary Tó éí ’iiná até (Water is Life), which explores the impact of industrialization and its ramifications on the environment.

November 19: Partial Lunar Eclipse! Lowell Observatory will be hosting a live stream at 12:15 AM showing live telescope views of the partial eclipse! This event is free and virtual.

December 11-12: Museum of Northern Arizona Native American Art Market

celebrates the diverse set of Native communities on the Colorado Plateau and their rich artistic and cultural traditions. Experience Indigenous culture in both traditional and contemporary mediums in this two-day event from 11 – 4 PM. Learn more about this event here.

December 11: Willow Bend features Herbalist Mike Masek from the Forager’s Path to lead an annual Salve Making Workshop. Participants will use resin from the local Pinon tree and will get to take home samples of two salve types. Click the link for more information and to register for the event.
