City of Flagstaff — 30-day public comment period opens for draft 10-Year Housing Plan

FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff Housing Section is asking for public input on its draft 10-Year Housing Plan. Flagstaff residents can read the draft 10-Year Housing Plan online and can provide feedback by taking the Policy Initiative and Strategy Prioritization Survey. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete and feedback will be used to help City staff prioritize housing initiatives and strategies. The public comment period ends on November 5, 2021.

The draft 10-Year Housing Plan defines the Housing Emergency in Flagstaff and provides policy initiatives and strategies to address it over the next 10 years. The draft Plan also establishes goals to substantially increase the number of available and affordable housing options for Flagstaff residents at all income levels and to increase housing subsidies for those who are unable to afford housing in Flagstaff.

“This is a great opportunity for members of the public to share their housing needs and priorities with the City as we work collectively to address our community’s Housing Emergency. Thank you to all of the volunteers who helped to create the draft Plan and make this opportunity for public engagement possible.” -Flagstaff Mayor Paul Deasy

“Developing the draft of this plan has been a huge community undertaking involving some 80 volunteers who gave approximately 1,000 hours of their time and expertise. I’m eager to hear the public’s feedback and to discuss how best to address the critical need for affordable housing in Flagstaff.” – Flagstaff Vice Mayor Becky Daggett

The 10-Year Housing Plan will be presented to Flagstaff City Council for consideration of adoption on December 7, 2021.
