City of Flagstaff Truth in Taxation Hearing on June 28 – Notice of Tax Increase

FLAGSTAFF — In compliance with section 42-17107, Arizona Revised Statutes, Coconino County is notifying its property taxpayers of Coconino County’s intention to raise its primary property taxes over last year’s level. Coconino County is proposing an increase in primary property taxes of $205,735 or 2%.

For example, the proposed tax increase will cause Coconino County’s primary property taxes on a $100,000 home to be $50.94 (total proposed taxes including the tax increase). Without the proposed tax increase, the total taxes that would be owed on a $100,000 home would have been $49.94.

This proposed increase is exclusive of increased primary property taxes received from new construction. The increase is also exclusive of any changes that may occur from property tax levies for voter approved bonded indebtedness or budget and tax overrides.

Notices of this proposed tax increase also appeared in the Arizona Daily Sun on June 9, 2022, and on June 19, 2022. All interested citizens are invited to attend the public hearing on the tax increase that is scheduled to be held virtually via the Zoom platform on Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at 6:00 pm.  People can join the meeting by link or phone listed below.
