Community health, information events set for May 16

MAY 16 — Ahoy to SummerFLAGSTAFF — “Ahoy to Summer — Anchors Aweigh to Health,” a Children’s Health & Wellness Fair, will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, May 16 at the Flagstaff Aquaplex.

Explore all of the fun summer activities and camps Flagstaff has to  offer and get a jump start on back-to-school readiness before the school year even ends, organizers reported.

The event includes:

  • Free on-site health screenings, education and services
  • Free onsite sports physicals
  • Learn about water, sun and medication safety
  • Fun activity stations, music, balloon artist, face paining, raffle prizes and giveaways.

Presented by the City of Flagstaff Recreation Department and North Country HealthCare.

FLAGSTAFF — The “Spring into Summer Community Resource Fair” will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 16 at Kinsey Elementary School, 1601 S. Lone Tree, Flagstaff.

MAY 16The public event will help the community learn about important resources that are available to them, that can help improve their lives. Community members can come and get information about things such as free English classes and GED classes along with many assistance programs for utilities, rent, literacy, parenting, financial, health care, and WIC.  Some of the agencies that will be giving information are: Coconino Community College, NACA, Coconino County Services, United Way, Coconino Transformative Learning Center, and Northland Family Help Center. There will also be a raffle and some interactive activities for the kids.
