Economic Collaborative of Northern Arizona (ECoNA) — Join Us (Oct. 11) for a Webinar on Prop 480

Join Us for ‘Engaging Flagstaff’s Prop. 480’

You are cordially invited to join us tomorrow for a special webinar on Prop. 480, the citizens of Flagstaff’s referendum on the re-zoning of the proposed Northern Arizona Hospital site. The re-zoning of the site was approved by the Flagstaff City Council earlier this year.

This Arizona Civic Exchange (CivEx) event, which will be held from 2 – 3 p.m. (MST), is being sponsored by the Arizona Center for Civic Leadership, a part of the Flinn Foundation. The webinar is being presented in conjunction with the Northern Arizona Leadership Alliance Community Civility Project.

I have the honor of sitting on the panel that will address Prop 480 tomorrow. My comments will focus on the important role a robust health care system plays in a region’s economic health.

The event will be hosted by Flinn-Brown Fellows Dave Engelthaler, Director and Professor of TGen North, and Coral Evans, former Flagstaff mayor and now the Northern Arizona Director of the Office of U.S. Senator Mark Kelly.

The moderator of the discussion will be local news radio host and pastor Jeff Kennedy. Joining me on the panel are:

  • The Honorable Al White, former Flagstaff Vice Mayor
  • Tracye Moore, Clinical Professor of Dental Hygiene, Northern Arizona University
  • Kim Musselman, Director of Coconino County Health and Human Services
  • Mike Martinell, former Northern Arizona Healthcare board member
  • Daryl Melvin, Flinn-Brown Fellow and Vice Chair, Northern Arizona Healthcare Board of Directors

This ballot initiative is part of a mail-only election and early voting will begin tomorrow. This is an extremely important issue for our community as we work to address the shortage of health care professionals in our region. I sincerely hope you attend to learn more about Prop 480 and relevant issues concerning the hospital’s proposal.
