Economic Collaborative of Northern Arizona (ECoNA) — Q&A with Flagstaff City Manager Greg Clifton

Two years ago next month, Greg Clifton became Flagstaff’s City Manager after a search that took almost a year and half.

Greg, who also serves as a member of the ECoNA Executive Board, brought more than three decades of experience from several Colorado cities and towns, including stints as the Town Manager of Telluride and Vail.

Those experiences served him well during an extraordinary time for Flagstaff. The remains of the Museum Fire were still smoldering when he officially joined the City’s team. Only a few months in, Flagstaff, like the rest of the nation, faced a pandemic, lockdowns and economic instability. More recently, floods from monsoon rains have impacted much of Flagstaff’s east side.

We sat down to talk with Greg about his background, how Flagstaff compares to the Colorado towns he’s managed, and why the City has continued to thrive despite the challenges of the past two years.

Check out our interview with Greg here.

Sincerely,

Gail Jackson
