Introduction to the Peace Corps. Tuesday, june 13th, 6:00 to 7:00pm. Downtown Library. Learn about the Peace Corps Volunteers, ask questions about service, and gain tips to guide you through the application process.
Senior Coffee Hour. June 14th at 10AM. Downtown Library Northwest Corner. Coffee and Snacks Provided! For adults Age 55 and up. Learn about Picture Canyon, Observatory Mesa, and McMillan Mesa, along with PROSE's outdoor activities, educational activities, and volunteer opportunities.

Author Talk: Melissa Sevigny. Science journalist Melissa Sevigny will discuss her new book, Brave The Wild River.  Through the vibrant letters and diaries of botonists Elzada Clover and Lois Jotter, Sevigny traces their 1938 journey down the Colorado River, during which they meticulously cataloged flora of the Grand Canyon. Thursday, June 15th at 6:30pm. Downtown Library Community Room.
Rio de Flag Community Cleanup. Help keep our community clean and beautiful! We will meet at the war memorial in Wheeler Park and make our way to the Frances Short Pond, picking up litter as we go. Sunday, June 18th, 10:00am to 12:00pm
Youth Events
Nefertiti the Spidernaut. Come learn about Nefertiti, the jumping spider who went to space! Discuss bugs and insects and  play a matching game. Monday, June 12th at 10:30 am. Ages 5 to 12
LEGO Club. Mondays, June 12th and 26th and July 10th.  1:30 to 2:30 PM. Downtown library. We bring the LEGO!  You bring the imagination!
Paws to Read: Sign up to practice reading to a real therapy dog! Mondays & Thursdays from June 5th to July 20th: 20 minute appointments. Come in person to the Downtown Youth Services to sign up for your reading time. Registration starts May 30th.
Crafty Corner. Join us this summer for awesome activities! Ages 3 and up. Tuesdays, 10am. June 13th and 27th: Express your creativity at the East Flagstaff Community Library! July 11th: Meet us at the Community Ramada at Bushmaster Park's east entrance for a fun outdoor crafting experience!
Storytimes at the Downtown Library! Bouncing Babies: June 23rd and July 14th at 10:30 am. Toddler Tales: June 13th to July 18th, Tuesdays at 10:30 am. Preschool Express: June 15th to July 20th, Thursdays at 10:30 am. Saturday Story Stop: Year-round at 10:30 am.
Batik Fabric Art. Create the art of glue batik while contributing to a community peace quilt to be displayed in Youth Services at the Downtown Library. June 13th and July 11th at 1:30 PM. Ages 8 and up. Attend one or both sessions
Family Storytime at Bushmaster Park Community Ramada. Wednesdays, June 7th to July 19th from 10:30to 11:15 am.
Preschool Dance Class. June 14th or July 10th at 10:30 AM. Join Ms. Debbi of Creative Soles in the Downtown Library's Community Room for a Preschool Dance Class!  Space is limited so please choose one class to attend.  *Registration required*
Creation Friendship Station: stories and crafts. Ages 3 and up. June 14th and July 12th at 1:30 pm. Downtown Community Room
Tweens Summer Splash! June 15th at 1:30 PM. Water balloons & games on the Downtown Library back lawn. Bring a towel and wear sunscreen, because you're gonna get wet! Ages 8 to 12.
Lego Club: Build, Learn, Share. June 15th and 29th. July 13th. 2:30 to 3:45pm.  Ages 5 to 11. East Flagstaff Comunity Library
Storytime on the Road: Join us for a storytime and games at a local park! Thursdays @ 4:30pm. Doney Park Dates: June 15th and 29th. Kachina Village Dates: June 22nd and July 6th
Friday Flicks: June 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th and July 7th and 14th. Craft at 1:30, movie at 2pm. Join us in the Community Room for a kid-friendly movie!  We'll have a themed craft 30 minutes before the movie begins.
After-Hours Paper Plane Palooza Come try your hand at crafting the perfect paper plane and letting it fly in a closed library!  Join us for this special evening of games, prizes and crafts. Friday, June 16th 6:15pm. Registration required.   Register starting June 5th

Senior Book Club at the Joe C Montoya Senior Center. June 19th at 1pm. Harlem Shuffle by Colson Whitehead.
Kids Book Club (suggested age 7 and up). Monday, June 26th at 4:30: Amari and the Night Brothers. Monday, July 10th at 4:30: Swim Team. You may attend either Book Club - or both! The Book Club will be held in the Community Room at the downtown library. Click her to see how to reserve your FREE BOOK
Banned Book Club: To Kill a Mockingbird. Tuesday June 27th at 6pm. Downtown Library. Racism? Rape? "White Saviors"?  Join us to discuss the novel as well as the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today.
LGBT+ Book Club. The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie. July 10th at 6:30PM.
Thursday Night Book Club: The Sentence by Louise Erdich. July 13th at 6 PM, Downtown Library & on Zoom.
Southwest Reads Book Club: One Woman's West. July 26th at 6:pm. Downtown Library.
Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.   Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
