Adult & All-Ages Events
Climate Conversation: Housing and Climate. Part of the Climate Resilience Project, Climate Conversations are expert-facilitated discussions on the science, news, and feelings around a climate topic. Tuesday, July 11th at 6pm. Downtown Library.
Senior Coffee Hour. July 12th at 10AM. Downtown Library Northwest Corner. Coffee and Snacks Provided! For adults Age 55 and up. Hear from Road Scholar ambassador Kerry Bennett, who will provide an overview of the guided tours offered by Road Scholar, as well as her personal experience with the program.
Tosho-Con 2023. July 12th. 2:00-4:30pm. East Flagstaff Library. Celebrate Japanese culture through art, anime, crafts, games, martial arts demos, and much more!! This year's theme is Matsuri, festive summer celebrations! All Ages!

Library Writers: Critique Circle. Bring a sample of your writing to be workshopped. All genres welcome! Samples should be 1000 words or less. Saturday, July 15th. 3:00 to 4:30 pm. Downtown Library.
Meet Us at the Trailhead: Walker Lake. Saturday, July 15th at 9am. Join library staff on a 2 mile out-and-back hike - with interesting history and incredible views of the San Francisco Peaks! Click here for directions and more!
Cooking Competition! contestants will create delectable dishes over 3 rounds to take home a prize! Come have a blast decorating cookies, creating culinary masterpieces, & eating lots of sugar! Supplies provided, just bring your appetite for fun! Ages 12 and up. Two dates available: Friday, July 7th at the East Flagstaff Library and Monday, July 17th and the Downtown Library. 3pm to 4pm

Lego Club at the Dowtown Library. We bring the bricks, you bring the imagination. Monday, July 10th, 1:30 to 2:30pm. Ages 5 and up.
Crafty Corner: Tuesday, July 11th at 10 am. Meet us at the Community Ramada at Bushmaster Park's east entrance for a fun outdoor crafting experience! Ages 3 and up.
Storytimes at the Downtown Library! Bouncing Babies: June 23rd and July 14th at 10:30 am. Toddler Tales: June 13th to July 18th, Tuesdays at 10:30 am. Preschool Express: June 15th to July 20th, Thursdays at 10:30 am. Saturday Story Stop: Year-round at 10:30 am.
Batik Fabrik Art. Create the art of glue batik while contributing to a community peace quilt to be displayed in Youth Services at the Downtown Library. July 11th. 1:30 pm. Ages 8 and up.
Family Storytime at Bushmaster Park Community Ramada. Wednesdays, June 7th to July 19th from 10:30to 11:15 am.
Wetland Wonders: Birds of Northern Arizona. Learn about birds that inhabit wetlands in the Flagstaff area. Presented by local birding experts. July 12th. 10:30 am to 12:00pm. Ages 5 and up. Downtown Library.
Creation Friendship Station: Stories and crafts. July 12th at 1:30pm. Downtown Community Room.
Stories and Swim at the Aquaplex. July 13th, 1:15 to 2:15. All Ages. Safety resctrictions apply. Click here for more information. REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

Friday Flicks: June 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th and July 7th and 14th. Craft at 1:30, movie at 2pm. Join us in the Community Room for a kid-friendly movie! We'll have a themed craft 30 minutes before the movie begins.
Self-Paced Activities
Checkout these self paced Summer Reading Missions!
Communiy Art Collage. Come to the Downtown Library information desk to get a tiny picture and copy it onto the blank paper we give you. We'll put all the pieces together to create one BIG image! You can also check out watercolors to paint the copy if you want (for in library use only).
Black, White, and Read All Over Community Quilt. Create a block for our community quilt and earn points for the Summer Reading Challenge! Check out a quilt block kit at the Downtown Library Information Desk (while supplies last) and return your finished block by Friday, July 21st. The completed blocks will be quilted by the Thursdays at Judy's quilt group and the finished quilt will be displayed in the Coconino Quilters' Guild biannual quilt show in 2024!
Community Book Project. As part of the Summer Reading Challenge, the Library is collecting writing submissions around the theme of "Reading in Flagstaff." Submit a poem, essay, or short fiction up to 2 pages or 500 words in length by July 21st. At the end of SRC, the submissions will be turned into a community book available for checkout. Full submission details and age-specific prompts are available at the Downtown Library Information Desk! All ages are welcome to submit.
Book Clubs
Kids Book Club (suggested age 7 and up). Monday, July 10th at 4:30: Swim Team. The Book Club will be held in the Community Room at the downtown library.
LGBT+ Book Club. The Raven Tower by Ann Leckie. July 10th at 6:30PM.
Teen Graphic Novel Club. Ages 13 to 18. Squire is a young adult graphic novel set in an alternate history Middle East/North Africa. IT follows a knight of a war-torn empire who is hiding her true identity. Thursday, July 14th. 4:00 to 5:00 pm. Downtown Library. Click here to learn how to get the book.

Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more. Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
