Announcement
The Downtown and East Flagstaff Community Libraries will be CLOSED Monday, Feb. 20th in honor of Presidents' Day.
Adult & All-Ages Events
Paper Roses: Take-and-make kit. Learn to create roses out of paper! Instructions and paper are provided, as well as the link to a video tutorial! Kits available at the Downtown Library Information Desk, February 1st through 14th, or while supplies last.
Community Living Room. The third Wednesday of each month in the northwest corner of the Downtown Library. 6 to 7 PM. February 15th: Gwendolyn Waring Research Adventures across the Southwest.
The Flagstaff City-Coconino County Library is partnering with Coconino County Health and Human Services to bring you 3 Healthy Sexuality Sessions. Take charge of your sexual health this year and join us at the Downtown's Library Community Room @ 5:30 PM on Mondays starting on January 30.  These one hour long sessions will give you the sex ed you never had, and make you an askable adult for the teens in your life! Come for this third and final session: The Talk on February 13th at 5:30 pm at the downtown library's community room.
Cyber Security Basics. Build confidence when visiting websites, creating passwords, and protecting yourself from fraudsters, spam, and scams. All technology is provided. Seats are limited and registration is required.  Thursday, February 16th, 11AM. Downtown Library Community Room
Youth Events
Anime Tales and Play. For Teens. Mondays, January 23rd through February 13th. 3:15 to 4:30pm at the East Flagstaff Library. Watch anime. Play games. Get crafty. Discuss anime & manga. Check-out the latest manga & anime DVDs. Food provided.
Storytimes at the Downown Library! Baby Laptime: January 10th to March 7th, Tuesdays at 9:15 am. Preschool Express: January 11th to March 9th, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 am. Toddler Tales: January 10th to March 9th, Tuesdays at 10 am and Thursdays at 9:15 am. Saturday Story Stop: Year-round at 10:30 am.
Crafty Corner. Express your creativity at the East Flagstaff Community Library! Tuesdays, January 10th to March 7th from 3:30 to 4:30PM. Ages 3 and up.
Family Storytime. Wednesdays starting January 11th through March 8th from 10:30AM to 11:15AM. East Flagstaff Library.
LEGO Club: East Flagstaff Library. Thursdays, January 12th and 26th, February 9th and 23rd, and March 9th. 2:30 to 3:45 pm. Ages 5 and 11.
Game Day. Ages 8 to 17. Wednesdays January 18th, February 1st and 15th, and March 1st. 1pm to 2:30pm at the East Flagstaff Library. Swing by to play video games & table top games.
Creation Station: stories and crafts. Wednesdays, February 8th and 22nd, and March 8th. 3:30 pm at the Downtown Library.
Bards & Nobles: Dungeons & Dragons for Teens. January 19th, February 16th, and April 20th. 5:00 to 7:30pm at the Downtown Library. Ages 12 to 18. Registration required.
Game Time, Hang Time. Ages 8 to 18. Board games, Switch, PS4, and free snacks! 1st and 3rd Fridays from January 20th to April 21st. 3:45 to 4:45pm in the Downtown Library.
Book Clubs
Senior Book Club at the Joe C Montoya Community and Senior Center. February 13th at 1pm. The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman.
Climate Resilience Project Common Read Book Club. Join monthly meetings to discuss a chapter of The Community Resilience Reader. Join us in person at the Downtown Library Community Room or on Zoom, even if you haven't read the chapter yet! Thursday, February 16th at 5:30pm: Chapter 5, the Equity Crisis
Thursday Night Book Club: The Personal Librarian Book by Heather Terrell and Victoria Christopher Murray. March 9th at 6 PM, Downtown Library & on Zoom.

Southwest Reads Book Club: The Emerald Mile by Kevin Fedarko. Wednesday, March 22nd at 5:30pm. Downtown Library Community Room.
Banned Book Club: The Handmaid's Tale. Wednesday March 29th, 5:30 to 6:30pm Downtown Library Community Room. Totalitarianism. Sex slavery. Tyranny in the guise of religion.  Join us to discuss the novel as well as the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today.
Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.   Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
