Book Clubs
Senior Book Club at the Joe C. Montoya Community & Senior Center. October 17th at 1pm. 3rd Monday of every other month. This month is The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
Horror Story Club. October 11th and 25th at 5:30 pm. Downtown Library. October 11th: The Yellow Wallpaper, Berenice, and Number 13. October 25th: The One Who Waits and the Rats in the Walls. Note: some stories contain dated and offensive language.
Youth Climate Book Club: Meet on the second Friday each month to build community and have a deeper dialogue about climate with other youth while discussing sections from All We Can Save. Pick up a copy at the Downtown or East Flagstaff library. Friday, October 14th at 4:30pm. At the East Flagstaff Community Room or on Zoom.
Thursday Night Book Club: The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. October 13th at 6 PM, Downtown Library & on Zoom.
Southwest Reads Book Club: Lazy B. 4th Monday of every other month at 5:30pm at the Downtown Library. November 28th.

Adult & All-Ages Events
Dia de los Muertos Storytelling with Zarco Guerrero. Join Zarco and his unique masked characters as they celebrate Día de los Muertos. Musical accompaniment is provided by Carmen de Novais. This storytelling puts life into perspective in a delightful and engaging way, helping us to accept and even laugh at our fears about death. Monday, October 17th at 5:30 pm. Downtown Library.
Movie Tuesday: John Carpenter's The Thing. Scientists in Antarctica battle against a shapeshifter that impersonates its victims and means to pick them off, one by one.  Body horror, groundbreaking practical effects, and the isolated setting combine to make this not only a cult classic of the horror genre. October 18th at 5:30 pm, Downtown Library. RATED R for gore, body horror, and animal mutilation. Mature audiences only!
Senior Coffee Hour. October 19th at 10AM. DOWNTOWN LIBRARY NORTH WEST CORNER. Coffee and Snacks Provided!  Meet on the third Wednesday of each month to drink coffee and chat about resources and topics for seniors.  In October, join Mountain Shamrock Properties to discuss easier, less stressful ways to sell mom’s (or dad’s) house without cleaning it up, cleaning it out, or paying realtor fees.
Community Living Room:  A free monthly program  at the downtown library   featuring an interesting local   with something to share! Otober 19th at 6pm: The PROSE Story, a Division in Motion
Resilience Work Session: Tools for Climate Resilience in Public Space. Part of the Climate Resilience Project, Resilience Work Sessions are hands-on workshops to develop skills related to personal and community climate resilience. Thursday, October 20th at 5:30pm, Downtown Library.
Zoom Workshop. Learn how to create an account, make video calls, and build confidence using Zoom features. All technology is provided. Seats are limited and registration is required.  *This is a course for intermediate learners. Attendees should already have an email and be able to confidently navigate the internet. Tuesday, October 25th at 2pm. Downtown Library.
Paranormal Encounters: The Library Ghost. Wednesday, October 26th, 5:30pm to 7pm, Downtown Library. Is the Flagstaff Public Library really haunted?  Join us for a special presentation on parapsychology, ghost hunting techniques and terminology, and the history of the library and Emerson School, then discuss your theories about what's behind the library's weird phenomena.
Youth Events
Anime Tales and Play: Every other Monday, September 19th to October 31st. 3:15 to 4:30pm at the East Flagstaff Library. Watch Anime, Play Games, Get Crafty, Discuss anime & manga, and Check-out the latest manga & anime DVDs! Food Provided!
Bardes and Nobles: Dungeons and Dragons for teens.  Ages 12 to 17. 3rd Thursdays of the month, September through November. 5 to 7:30pm. Downtown Library.
Lego Club at the Downtown Library. We bring the bricks, you bring the imagination! Mondays September 19th and 26th, October 3rd, 17th, and 31st, and November 7th. 3:45pm. Ages 5 to 11.
Lego Club at the East Flagstaff Library: Thursdays September 22nd, October 6th and 20th, and November 3rd. 2:30 to 3:45pm.
Game Time Hang Time: Come chill with Switch & PS4 games and free snacks! Ages 8-18. 3:45-4:45pm. Fridays  September 16TH and 30TH, October 7TH and 21ST, November 4TH & 18TH. Downtown Community Room.
Game Day: Fridays September 16th and 30th, October 14th and 28th, 2:30 to 4pm. Swing by the Community Room at the East Flagstaff Community Library to play video games and table top games! Ages 8 to 17.
Downtown Library Storytimes. Baby Laptime: Tuesdays, September 13th to November 15th, 9:15 am. Toddler Tales: September 13th to November 17th, Tuesdays at 10 am and Thursdays at 9:15 am. Preschool Express: September 14th to November 17th, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 am. Outside, weather permitting. Otherwise, they will be in the Community Room.
Crafty Corner. Express your creativity at the East Flagstaff Community Library! Tuesdays, September 13th to November 1st. 3:30 to 4:30pm. Ages 3 and up.
Family Storytime. Wednesdays, September 14th to November 2nd from 10:30am to 11:15am. In the Community Room at the East Flagstaff Community Library
Creation Station stories and crafts: Wednesdays Sept. 14 & 28  Oct. 12 & 26 and Nov. 9 at 3:45pm in the Downtown Community Room. Ages 3 and up.
Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.   Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
