Flagstaff High School celebrates 2018 Hispanic Convocation

FLAGSTAFF — More than 50 students took part in the 2018 Flagstaff High School Hispanic Convocation held May 17 at the school’s Hurley Theatre.

The event included opening remarks by Rosaría Acevedo, the invocation by Pastor Carlos Mendez and the keynote address by Flagstaff Mayor Coral Evans.

Principal Tony Cullen then led the presentation of the traditional colorful graduation sashes to the students.

The event was sponsored by District 2 Supervisor Liz Archuleta; District 1 Supervisor Art Babbott; District 4 Supervisor Jim Parks; Mike and Sarah Cromer; the Coconino Hispanic Advisory Council (CHAC); Chipotle Mexican Grill; Patrica Cardoza, Flagstaff High School Cafeteria; Patty Pastor, Flagstaff High School Culinary; and Someburros Mexican Food.
