Yellow Wall and Blue windows
Tucked among the verdant hills of Colombia’s Coffee Triangle or Eje Cafeteroregion, Salento is a colorful, peaceful town with multihued buildings lining itsCalle Real and contiguous streets, a large town square and, unquestionably, the church de rigueur.  The colorful doors of Salento caught my interest immediately… Why were they painted with these beautiful, bright colors? Is that indicative of occupier’s personality? What might be behind those doors? What stories they may tell? Are they open to greet visitors? Or, are they closed to hide happenings and gossips lurking behind? It’s almost like saying “please let me in, I want to meet you, I want to see what’s inside”. Our fascination -or not- with doors and windows can tell us a lot about the inhabitants of the abode, but if we think about it, it can also tell us a lot about our own personalities, beliefs, dreams, and fears. In Salento, we may perhaps be able to find the answer.
 ***
