During last week’s campus forum, I said that this is a university on the rise. That rings true on many fronts.

We have shown that we can adapt. Yes, we all have to adapt during changing times. But at NAU, we are demonstrating that we are also leaders who drive meaningful change. And we have consistently shown that we are committed to the student experience, the evolution of our research agenda, and to our many important community partnerships.

We continue to demonstrate that what we do, we do for the common good—and it makes a difference to those we serve. That is why I joined my fellow university presidents earlier this month to make a statement about the need for more university funding to help us put the dream of higher education within reach of all Arizona students. I will continue to make that case, because I believe so strongly in you and our mission.

This message is a mere snapshot of the great things taking place on campus. From the upcoming Arizona First Tech Challenge Tournament and Robotics Competition, to the Tribal Leaders Education Conference, and a multitude of things in-between, we are a university standing on the threshold of tomorrow.
