Sedona Arts Center — Celebrate Sedona with the Big Gay Art Show on Dec. 6

Celebrate Sedona, December 6
The Big Gay Art Show honors LGBTQ+ Artists & Allies

Join us at Sedona Arts Center on Wednesday, December 6, from 4-6 pm for Celebrate Sedona and the opening of our annual exhibition—The Big Gay Art Show! The event is free and will be held in the Theatre Studio and Special Exhibitions Gallery at the Art Barn with free parking in our lower lot.

In addition to the exhibition, attendees will enjoy an evening of festive music by DJ Shondra, food and drinks, door prizes, and a Holiday Market with one-of-a-kind items by CJ Henderson, Denize Katzen, Susan Moody, Victoria Norton, Jillian Sander, Sedona Incense Company and Iris Yang, and entertaining bits and curiosities by Arizona’s Hip Historian Marshall Shore.

“We invite Sedona residents and visitors to join us for a lively and joyful evening,” said Sedona Arts Center CEO Julie Richard. “Shop for unique gifts, listen to music, mix and mingle with exhibition artists and experience beautiful and incredibly thought-provoking art.”

A juried exhibition, The Big Gay Art Show features a wide range of artworks by 45 LGBTQ+ artists and allies from across the country, including paintings, photography, sculpture and mixed media. All artwork is for sale and a portion of the proceeds benefits Northland Cares, a nonprofit organization specifically founded to meet the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS in northern Arizona.

“This show celebrates inclusivity, identity and representation,” said Richard. “It is open to all artists, mediums and abilities. The Arts Center is a safe space that allows the LGBTQ+ community and their allies a voice in the local art scene.”
