Theatrikos Theatre Company — September Newsletter – Nonprofits Welcomed to Theatrikos

Numerous arts organizations and other nonprofits welcomed to Theatrikos for events in September
September 2023
Soroptimist, Flagstaff Family Food Center, Chomsky School of Business, Sedona International Film Festival and Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival hold events this month
Theatrikos’ mission, of course, is to present the best live theatre in Northern Arizona. But when we’re not having shows on the weekends, we like to invite other arts and non-profit organizations and help them with their mission. It’s all part of making our Flagstaff home a better place to be—and continuing to make downtown a vibrant part of the city.
This month we welcome the good folks from Soroptimist of Mountain Morning (9/9/23) and Flagstaff Family Food Center (9/7/23) for their fundraising events. We continue our successful partnership with Sedona International Film Festival (Wednesdays) and Mountain Film Festival (9/2/23).  And Chomsky School of Business (9/1/23) once again performs in the new black box.
The public is welcome to all these events. Theatrikos loves supporting other organizations in Northern Arizona. Working together we raise all boats.
“Terrific performance! We LOVED it!”

Next Main Stage Show—Romantic Comedy Stage Kiss
Stage Kiss Opens October 6
A kiss is not just a kiss with Stage Kiss—a whirlwind knockabout farce, up next at Theatrikos. When two actors with a history are thrown together as leads in a 1930s romantic comedy, they quickly lose touch with reality. “This play is so much fun for the cast, as they get to play both real-life actors and characters in a play-within-a-play,” said Stage Kiss director Stan Sutherland. “When the actors really enjoy doing a play, the audience enjoys it, too. You can expect to have a rollicking good time at the theater.” Stage Kiss runs October 6—22.
Twice as Much Fun with Films
Starting in September, Theatrikos doubles our films on the screen. We continue our successful partnership with Sedona International Film Festival on Wednesday nights and add additional films on Monday nights, too. Mountain Film Festival is back again—with an environmental showcase. From comedy to drama, from a story about finding something to make living worthwhile, to ongoing identity crisis, or a true story of a Tejano music star, we have wide variety from which to choose.

20th anniversary of TheatriKids celebrated with sold out triumphant return of Matilda
TheatriKids celebrated 20 years with “return” performances of Matilda. “Return” because Matildawas the main stage show that, due to the pandemic three years ago, was cancelled a week before it was supposed to open. But our TheatriKids were not to be defeated by a rotten and revolting pandemic. And Matilda finally made it to our stage. 75 cast and crew, 9 sold out performances, almost 1,000 friends and family in the audience and army of volunteers made Matilda’s return a cathartic experience for the entire TheatriKids and Theatrikos family.
Christmas Show Auditions
