Student volunteers turn compassion into action
When NAU finance major Logan Scarbrough heard that Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life Marissa Griffin had been diagnosed with breast cancer, he worked with his peers in Pi Kappa Alpha to organize a 5K walk dedicated to raising money for breast cancer awareness. He’s not the only one strengthening the university’s culture of relentless welcome: Every year, NAU students participate in everything from nonprofit work to food distribution to supporting their peers, making a positive impact on their communities.
