FLAGSTAFF, Ariz — Starting Monday, August 31, the City of Flagstaff (City) and their contractor, Eagle Mountain Construction, will begin the Meade Lane Utility Improvements Project. The project, which runs along a section of Meade Lane between Highway 180/Fort Valley Road and the Rio de Flag bridge, consists of: improvements to the stormwater infrastructure, removal and replacement of aging water and sewer utility infrastructure, improvements to the FUTS trail, concrete curb, gutter and driveway entrance repairs and full roadway reconstruction. The project is scheduled to be complete in summer 2027 and is partially funded by the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program from the Federal Emergency Management Administration through the Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs.
Work may occur Monday through Friday, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. During this work, residents can expect one lane of traffic to always be maintained, full residential access, loud noise, rough road conditions, construction equipment in the roadway, temporary water shut offs and driveway entrance repairs. To avoid conflicts with construction equipment and expedite completion of the project, the City asks that residents avoid on-street parking while construction is underway.
