Coconino County Superintendent of Schools Cheryl Mango-Paget seeks input on potential appointment to Williams Unified District Governing Board

COCONINO COUNTY — Coconino County Superintendent of Schools Cheryl Mango-Paget is seeking public input regarding the potential appointment of Renee Hatch to fill the current vacancy on the Willaims Unified District Governing Board.

Hatch is a qualified candidate for a four-year term beginning in January 2027. Because the number of qualified candidates does not exceed the number of seats to be filled, the election is expected to be cancelled in accordance with Arizona law, and Hatch will be deemed elected to the term beginning in January 2027, pending final action by the Coconino County Board of Supervisors. A.R.S. § 15-424(E).

A vacancy occurred on the Williams Unified School District Governing Board on September 9, 2026. To provide continuity in governance, Superintendent Mango-Paget is considering appointing Hatch to the current vacant seat so that she may begin serving prior to the start of her elected termA.R.S. § 15-302(A)(3).

Community members are encouraged to provide comments regarding the potential appointment by emailing cmango-paget@coconino.az.gov by October 9, 2026.
