FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff is hosting a meet and greet event for members of the community and staff to meet and provide feedback on candidates for the Flagstaff City-County Library Director position. A competitive recruitment for the position began after the current director, Linda Tillson, announced her retirement beginning April 1.
The City received 27 applications and offered first round screening interviews to seven applicants. Three applicants were then selected to participate in in-person interviews in Flagstaff. The meet and greet event will take place on Thursday, March 26th from 8:15 a.m. – 9:15 p.m. at City Hall in Council Chamber (211 W Aspen Avenue).
The final candidate names and a brief biography are included below:
- Laura Kimberly is currently the Library & City Community Engagement Director for the City of Newport, OR. Laura has served in this role since May 2024. Prior to that, she served as the Library Director for Newport from 2019- 2024. Laura has been serving libraries in a variety of roles since 2007. She has a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a Bachelor of Communication from the University of Phoenix, Reno, NV.
- Jeff Scott recently served as the Library Director for Washoe County Library from 2015 – 2025. Prior to that role, he was the Director of Library Services for Berkeley Public Library and Tulare County Library. Jeff has been serving libraries in a variety of roles including Deputy Library Director and City Librarian since 2002. He has a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Arizona and a Bachelor of History from Arizona State University.
- Jennifer Stasinopoulos is currently the Deputy Library Director for City Services for the Flagstaff City-County Public Library. She has served in this role since 2024. Jennifer served as the Library Director for Ted & Grace Bachhuber Memorial Library from 2020-2024 and has held a variety of library roles since 2013. Before working for libraries, Jennifer also served as an educator working as adjunct faculty for several colleges. She has a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, a Masters of English from The Ohio State University, as well as a Bachelor of English from The Ohio State University.
