Before the COVID-19 outbreak, Coconino Community College student Justin Eaton would attend his classes in person, something he enjoyed very much.
Now, he walks the dog, makes his coffee, eats some breakfast and strolls into his home office to go to school.
“It was a little bit of adapting, but it wasn’t hard,” Eaton said. “I do miss being in the classroom.”

Probably the biggest economic news right now is the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), the pool of almost $350 billion in forgivable small business loans that is one of the main components of the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
Today’s bulletin will be a little different as we do a deeper dive on this one topic – what the PPP is supposed to do, the hurdles and hiccups it has faced in its first week, and how the government and financial institutions are responding.

Coconino County will reopen the Willard Springs Transfer Station for the summer season for free green waste-only disposal.
The station will not be accepting bulk waste due to cash handling and social distancing recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Green waste disposal provides an incentive for residents to clean up their properties before wildfire season.

Coconino County Residents Count:
Fill out the 2020 Census!
What is the 2020 Census and Why is it Important?
The census aims to collect an accurate count of our population which determines federal funding for our communities for resources like schools, hospitals, fire departments, roads, etc. The census also helps determine federal funding in times of disaster like the COVID-19 pandemic or forest fires, as well as determines the amount of seats Arizona will have in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Upon receiving the above request from Coconino County Health and Human Services (CCHHS), acting Superintendent Mary Risser, with the support of the NPS Deputy Director, Operations, David Vela and Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt, made the decision to immediately close the park until further notice.
