City hosts Earth Day celebration and Drop Off event on April 22

FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff Sustainability Office invites you celebrate Earth Day on Saturday, April 22 by putting your waste in the right place at the Drop Off Event at the Flagstaff Police Department, and then join us for live music, food, workshops, and more at Bushmaster Park.

Drop Off Event

From 9 a.m. – noon at the Flagstaff Police Department (911 E Sawmill Rd.), only the following items will be accepted:

  • Expired or unwanted medications, vitamins, or supplements (9 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
  • Aerosol cans
  • Batteries
  • CFLs (light bulbs)/ fluorescent tubes/LEDs
  • Electronic waste such as computers and printers
  • Medical syringes
  • Sensitive documents for onsite shredding (2 boxes/ person max)

Earth Day Celebration

From 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., join us for fun in the sun! Listen to live music, eat food from a local food truck, attend a free workshop, and discover dozens of sustainable-minded organizations.

Walking, riding a bike, or taking public transportation helps to reduce the impacts on our world. Mountain Line is providing free service in celebration of Earth Day 2023. For more information about bus routes, download the Mountain Line app.

A community litter clean-up led by Arizona Conservation Corps (AZCC) will take place prior to the community celebration from 9 – 11 a.m. Volunteers should plan to park in the west parking lot and meet at the east ramada of Bushmaster Park by 8:45 a.m. for a light breakfast.
