City of Flagstaff accepting applications for Technology Privacy Task Force

FLAGSTAFF — The City of Flagstaff is now accepting applications from community members who are interested in serving on the City’s Technology Privacy Task Force. This 10-member task force will be responsible for reviewing the City’s current technology policies, examining proposals for new technology, and providing critical input and recommendations. This work will help shape the rules that govern how the City collects, uses, and protects resident data.

The City is committed to building a task force that reflects the full community and is actively seeking a wide diversity of views, backgrounds, and expertise – you don’t need to be a technology expert to serve on the Task Force. Individuals who meet the following criteria are strongly encouraged to apply:

  • Advocate for civil liberties or vulnerable populations.
  • Local business owner.
  • Technology, IT, or cybersecurity professional.
  • Legal or policy expert.
  • Resident who is simply passionate about digital rights and civic engagement.

Applications are open now and will be accepted until Friday, Dec. 5, 2025. The selection committee will begin reviewing all submitted applications the week of December 8, with the goal of conducting the first meeting in January 2026.
