City of Flagstaff — Parking rate adjustments to begin August 1

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz — The City of Flagstaff and ParkFlag will implement new parking rates starting Saturday, August 1. The hourly parking rate is increasing from $1 an hour to $2 dollars an hour. These parking rates were approved by the Flagstaff City Council following a comprehensive public process. The rate adjustments will help ensure a financially sustainable parking system while supporting enhanced services throughout the downtown parking district.

The enhanced services were introduced in June 2026, ahead of the rate increase, demonstrating the City’s commitment to delivering the promised improvements before the new rates took effect.  These services include increased litter removal and other ongoing enhancements to the downtown parking district. Parking revenues will help sustain these services moving forward.

The City continues to dedicate 20 percent of all parking revenue to future parking infrastructure, including purchase, construction, and partnership opportunities for new public parking facilities that support downtown Flagstaff’s continued growth and vitality.

A parking rate study, completed in 2025 which evaluated parking demand, operating costs, and the long-term needs of the City’s parking system, supported the change. This study was shared with the public during August 2025, and proposed code amendments were presented to the Flagstaff City Council in October 2025, when the new rates were approved.

Additional information about updated rates, permits, payment options, and parking locations will be available through ParkFlag and the City of Flagstaff prior to implementation.
