Coconino County School Superintendent seeks public input on potential appointment to CAVIAT Fredonia

FREDONIA — Coconino County Superintendent of Schools Cheryl Mango-Paget is seeking public input regarding the potential appointment of Corrine Olson to fill the current vacancy on the Coconino Association for Vocations, Industry and Technology (CAVIAT) Fredonia District Governing Board.

Ms. Olson is the sole qualified candidate who filed for the CAVIAT Fredonia District Governing Board four-year term in the Nov. 3, 2026 General Election. Because the number of qualified candidates does not exceed the number of seats to be filled, the election is expected to be cancelled in accordance with Arizona law, and Ms. Olson will be deemed elected to the term beginning in January 2027, pending final action by the Coconino County Board of Supervisors. A.R.S. § 15-424(E).

To provide continuity in governance, Superintendent Mango-Paget is considering appointing Ms. Olson to the current vacant seat so that she may begin serving prior to the start of her elected term.

Community members are encouraged to provide comments regarding the potential appointment by emailing cmango-paget@coconino.az.gov.
