FLAGSTAFF — Flagstaff City Clerk Stacy Saltzburg has been recognized as the Clerk of the Year by the Arizona Municipal Clerks’ Association (AMCA). The Clerk of the Year award is reserved for the clerk whose accomplishments have made the most significant contribution to improving municipal government and their own community.
Stacy has served as City Clerk for the City of Flagstaff since 2018 and has made many notable contributions during this time. In 2021, Stacy earned her Master of Public Administration from Northern Arizona University, later receiving the 2023 NAU MPA Public Service Alumni Award in recognition of her dedication. She has successfully led major initiatives for Flagstaff, including updating and securing voter approval for City Charter Amendments that improved City operations and institutionalizing hybrid City Council meetings, increasing accessibility and access for Flagstaff residents. Additionally, she serves as Clerk for the Flagstaff Downtown Business Improvement and Revitalization District and was recently named an Athenian Fellow by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, highlighting her commitment to professional excellence and public service.
Stacy said “I am honored and humbled to be recognized as the Arizona Municipal Clerk Association 2025 City Clerk of the Year. This recognition means so much to me and is a tribute to all those who continue to support me. The profession of City Clerk is truly special, and I am proud to represent it both locally and at the state level.”
Flagstaff City Manager Greg Clifton shared “for Stacy to be recognized by her peers as the City Clerk of the Year is truly a great honor and an amazing milestone in her career.
