FLAGSTAFF — Flagstaff Mayor Jerry Nabours has been elected chair of the Greater Arizona Mayors Association (GAMA.) GAMA consists of 17 cities north of Phoenix from Holbrook to Lake Havasu City and includes Verde Valley, Prescott and Page.
The stated purpose of the association is to provide a forum for the advancement of the common interests of the members.
“For example,” said Mayor Nabours, “GAMA is promoting the building of by-pass lanes on I-17 to use when there is a blockage due to wrecks or heavy traffic. This is an issue of particular high importance to our member cities who rely on I-17.”

Mayor Nabours was elected as Chair at the GAMA meeting held this week in conjunction with the League of Arizona Cities and Towns Annual Meeting.
