FLAGSTAFF — The website of the www.route66carclub.com club said “Rain or Shine,” the 9th annual Route 66 Days Charity Car Show would be held the weekend of Sept. 7-8 in downtown Flagstaff.
They were not kidding. While the weather cooperated early Saturday, Sept. 7, the skies opened up around noon, with many car show enthusiast ducking under trees, overhead parking lot solar panels and elsewhere as rains and thunderstorms hit.
Meanwhile, a few show car owners also found safety and comfort inside their vehicles or decided to dive out of downtown Flagstaff for a dryer location that day. Despite the rain, the event brought in hundreds of entries to the downtown area.
