Flagstaff announces Christmas treecycling program

FLAGSTAFF — Residents of the city of Flagstaff can dispose of fresh-cut Christmas trees by utilizing the city’s treecycling program. While fresh-cut trees have a short life-span during the holiday season, the treecycling program chips them, uses them as mulch at the landfill.

Interested residents with residential trash service can place their tree curbside by 6 a.m. on Jan. 7. All trees will be picked up by Jan. 11. All tinsel, lights and ornaments need to be removed before the tree is placed on the curb. Residents who live in multifamily housing can participate by bringing their trees to one of the following locations through Jan. 18:

  • Old Public Works Yard: 419 N. Mogollon St.
  • Continental Little League Field: 5700 E. Old Walnut Canyon Rd.

Residents can also sign up for a collection reminder by visiting www.recyclebycity.com/flagstaff/schedule. If you have any questions about the program, please call 928-213-2151 or fparham@flagstaffaz.gov.
