Library Closures
The Downtown & East Flagstaff Libraries will be closed Monday, January 15th in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Adult & All-Ages Events
Climate Conversations: Resilient Neighborhood Networks. Part of the Climate Resilience Project, Climate Conversations are expert-facilitated discussions on the science, news, and feelings around a climate topic. Tuesday, January 9th at 6pm. East Flagstaff Library Community Room.
Senior Coffee Hour. January 10th at 10am. Downtown Library Northwest Corner. Coffee and snacks provided! Join Robbie Begay from Coconino County Senior Services to discuss transportation services, senior recreation trips, and more for seniors in Coconino County.
Arizona Author Series Watch Party. Clottee Hammons: Indiscernibles in Arizona: On the Hope and Reality of Being Black in Arizona. Join us for the 2024 Arizona Author Series, live on Zoom. Each author’s talk will be followed by time for audience questions. January 18th, 12 to 1pm in the Downtown Library Community Room. This program is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
Book Clubs
LGBT+ Book Club. January 8th at 6:30pm. The Library of the Unwritten by A. J. Hackwith. East Library.
Thursday Night Book Club: Angle of Repose by Wallace Stegner. January 11th at 6pm. Pick up a copy of the book at the Downtown Information Desk. Meet in the downtown community room or online via zoom!
Southwest Reads Book Club. Capirotada January 24th. Coming soon: March 27th Brave the Wild River and May 22nd Mesa of Sorrows. 4th Wednesday of every other month at 6pm. Downtown Community Room.
Banned Book Club: Speak. Tuesday February 6th from 6 to 7pm in the Downtown Library Community Room. Rape? Immorality? "Soft-pornography"? Join us to discuss the novel as well as the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today.
Youth Events
LEGO Club. Mondays from 3:45 to 4:45pm. January 8th and 22nd, February 12th and 26th. Ages 5+. Downtown Library Community Room. We Bring the LEGO! You bring the imagination!
Winter 2024 Storytimes at the Flagstaff Downtown Library. BABY LAP TIME: January 9 - March 5 Tuesdays @ 9:15 am. TODDLER TALES: Jan 9 - March 7 Tuesdays @ 10:00 am & Thursdays @ 9:15 am. PRESCHOOL EXPRESS: Jan 10 - March 7 Wed & Thurs @ 10:00 am. SATURDAY STORY STOP: Year-round @ 10:30 am.
Creation Station: Stories & Crafts. Winter 2024: January 10th and 24th, February 14th & 28th, and March 13th. At 3:30pm. Ages 3 and up.
Game Time, Hang Time. Ages 8 to 18. Come chill. Switch, PS4, and board games. Free snacks. 1 to 2pm on January 12th & 26th, February 9th & 23rd, and March 1st. Downtown Library Community Room.
Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.   Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
