Giving Opportunity
Give the gift of library cheer! Help the library offer free services and events to all members of the public!  Grab an ornament from the Wishing Tree by the Downtown Library's Book Sale Area, go to the website listed on the back, and order one (or more!) of our requested items. The items will automatically ship to us; it's as simple as that!
Adult & All-Ages Events
  Enjoy an evening with your family making holiday cards, sharing hot cocoa and cider, and eating popcorn!   Kits will be ready for pick up at EFCL during our service hours December 5th through Saturday, December 10th, while supplies last.  Each kit has supplies for 4 people.
Exploring the Art of Alexander Calder. Tuesday, Decmber 6th at 6pm. Downtown Library. Calder is known for his colorful, abstract sculptures, innovative mobiles, and kinetic art. Calder's work is in many permanent collections and large public spaces. His creativity and originality are remarkable! We will view a broad range of creations by this prolific artist.
Email Basics: Learn how to set up an email account, send emails, recognize spam, search for messages, and more.  All technology is provided, just bring yourself! Seats are limited. Registration required. Thursday, December 8th at 11 AM. Downtown Library.
Community Internet Action Project. Ever been frustrated by slow internet? Or felt like your cellular data isn’t available in all the places it should be? Be a part of a new Citizen Science project in Flagstaff to create and use first-of-its-kind tools for internet measurement. Help hold internet service providers accountable!  Thursday, December 8th at 4:30pm. Downtown Library.
Science Cafe. Saturday, December 10th at 10 am. East Flagstaff Community Room. Coffee provided! This month, we will be joined by Kachina Peaks Avalanche Center, whose mission is to provide avalanche education, safety training, and snowpack information for the San Francisco Peaks and Kachina Peaks Wilderness of Northern Arizona.

Youth Events
Flagstaff Public Library's 44th Annual Holiday Program! Saturday, December 10th at 10:30 am. All ages. Join library staff for special holiday songs, stories, crafts and a special visitor.
Gingerbread House Making.  Get in the holiday spirit and make a gingerbread house out of graham crackers, sweets & treats. Wednesday, December 14th at 3pm. Downtown Library. Registration required.
Craft and Movie - Frozen! Wednesday, December 21st. 10 am craft, 10:30 am movie. Downtown Library. Wear your Frozen costume and bring your Frozen friends!
Saturday Story Stop: Saturdays year-round at 10:30am in the downton library community room. Come to a fun-filled morning of storytime for all ages.
Book Clubs
Thursday Night Book Club: Hell of a Book by Jason Mott. December 8th at 6 PM, Downtown Library & on Zoom.
LGBT Book Club. December 12th at 6:30pm, in-person at the East Flagstaff Community Library. Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic by Alison Bechdel. Recommended for ages 18 and up.
Banned Book Club: Persepolis. Tuesday, December 13th at 5:30. Downtown Library Community Room. Revolution. Political upheaval. The search for freedom and belonging.  Join us to discuss the memoir as well as the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today.
Senior Book Club at the Joe C Montoya Community and Senior Center. December 19th at 1pm. The Paper Palace by Miranda Cowley Heller.
Southwest Reads Book Club: Never Kill a Song: Paul Arviso, his life and his jewelry. Starting in January, we will meet the 4th Wednesday of every other month at 5:30 pm in the  Downtown Library Community Room. January 25th at 5:30pm
Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.   Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
