September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! Grab a punch card or bingo sheet from the East Flagstaff Community Library!
Youth Events
Downtown Library Storytimes. Baby Laptime: Tuesdays, September 13th to November 15th, 9:15 am. Toddler Tales: September 13th to November 17th, Tuesdays at 10 am and Thursdays at 9:15 am. Preschool Express: September 14th to November 17th, Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 am. Outside, weather permitting. Otherwise, they will be in the Community Room.
Crafty Corner. Express your creativity at the East Flagstaff Community Library! Tuesdays, September 13th to November 1st. 3:30 to 4:30pm. Ages 3 and up.
Family Storytime. Wednesdays, September 14th to November 2nd from 10:30am to 11:15am. In the Community Room at the East Flagstaff Community Library
Creation Station stories and crafts: Wednesdays Sept. 14 & 28  Oct. 12 & 26 and Nov. 9 at 3:45pm in the Downtown Community Room. Ages 3 and up.
Bardes and Nobles: Dungeons and Dragons for teens.  Ages 12 to 17. 3rd Thursdays of the month, September through November. 5 to 7:30pm. Downtown Library.
Game Day: Fridays September 16th and 30th, October 14th and 28th, 2:30 to 4pm. Swing by the Community Room at the East Flagstaff Community Library to play video games and table top games! Ages 8 to 17.
Game Time Hang Time: Come chill with Switch & PS4 games and free snacks! Ages 8-18. 3:45-4:45pm. Fridays  September 16TH and 30TH, October 7TH and 21ST, November 4TH & 18TH. Downtown Community Room.
Anime Tales and Play: Every other Monday, September 19th to October 31st. 3:15 to 4:30pm at the East Flagstaff Library. Watch Anime, Play Games, Get Crafty, Discuss anime & manga, and Check-out the latest manga & anime DVDs! Food Provided!
Lego Club at the Downtown Library. We bring the bricks, you bring the imagination! Mondays September 19th and 26th, October 3rd, 17th, and 31st, and November 7th. 3:45pm. Ages 5 to 11.
Lego Club at the East Flagstaff Library: Thursdays September 22nd, October 6th and 20th, and November 3rd. 2:30 to 3:45pm.
Adult & All-Ages Events
Pride in Your Community: Name Change Clinic with One-N-Ten and Aspey Watkins and Diesel, PLLC law firm. September 12th at 6:30pm. Ages 12 and up. Click here to register.
Poetry Out Loud: poetry reading and discussion group. 2ND Tuesday April - September @ 3PM Pick up MONTHLY materials at the Downtown Library Information desk. Tuesday September 13t at 3pm: Joy Harjo. Outside on the northwest lawn, weather permitting.
Climate Covernsation: Flagstaff's Climate Impacts and Vulnerabilities.  Part of the Climate Resilience Project, Climate Conversations are expert-facilitated discussions on the science, news, and feelings around a climate topic. Tuesday, September 13th at 6pm. Downtown Library.
Nuestra Cultura. El 14 de Septiembre a las 5:30 pm.  Ven a conversar sobre la cultura hispana y latinoamericana, el segundo miércoles del mes en la sala comunitaria de la biblioteca del centro. Tendremos cafecito y té disponible.
Movie Tuesday: Frida. We're celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by kicking off our new Movie Tuesday series!  Best Actress nominee Salma Hayek stars as Mexican surrealist Frida Kahlo in this biopic chronicling her crippling pain following an accident, her turbulent marriage to Diego Rivera, and her political activism. September 20th 5:30-7:45pm Downtown Library Community Room. Note: this movie is rated R for sexuality, nudity, and language, and is intended for mature audiences only.
Senior Coffee Hour. September 21 at 10AM Downtown Library Northwest Corner Coffee and Snacks Provided!  Meet on the third Wednesday of each month to drink coffee and chat about resources and topics for seniors.  In September, join Robbie Begay from Coconino County Senior Services to discuss transportation services, senior recreation trips, and more!
Community Living Room.  A free monthly program  at the downtown library featuring an interesting local with something to share!  The third Wednesday of each month in the northwest corner of the Downtown Library  6 to 7 PM. September 21 Flagstaff Shakespeare Festival Elevating Empathy at 7,000 Feet.
Book Clubs
Banned Book Club: Fahrenheit 451. Thursday, September 22nd, 6pm to 7:30pm. Downtown Community Room. Though published in 1953, the story's themes book banning, tech addiction, and social isolation remain relevant. Join us as we discuss not only the novel itself, but also the concepts of free speech and censorship as we encounter them today..
YA for Adults Book Club: The Last Cuentista. September 23rd at 5pm at the Downtown Library and on Zoom.
Southwest Reads Book Club: Barbed. September 26th at 5:30 pm at the Downtown Library.
Festival of Science Book ClubL The Writing of the Gods: The Race to Decoe the Rosetta Stone. TuesdaySeptember 27th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm Downtown Library.
LGBT Virtual Book Club: The Fever King by Victoria Lee. October 10th at 6:30pm. Recommended for ages 15 and up.
Thursday Night Book Club: The Invention of Wings by Sue Monk Kidd. October 13th at 6 PM, Downtown Library & on Zoom.
Senior Book Club at the Joe C. Montoya Community & Senior Center. October 17th at 1pm. 3rd Monday of every other month. This month is The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
Technology Help
Free Technology Instruction and Resume Help. 30-minute,one-on-one instruction sessions available for help with introductory software, creating email accounts, downloading eBooks, résumé development, online job applications, and more.   Click here to see available dates. Registration is required for all sessions.
