This Week’s Insider is brought to you by:
Fall Pledge Drive Success
Thank you listeners who took the time to call, send back the mailer and stop by the station to make a donation. Because of you the Fall Pledge Drive was a success! Thank you to our phone volunteers; BLE, Beacon UU, The Potters Guild, Ceiba Adventures, Flagstaff Tax Credit Coalition and the Orchestra of Northern Arizona. And thank you to our restaurant supporters; Lux, Over Easy, Biffs Bagels, Mix, Campus Coffee Bean and Tourist Home for providing breakfast for our volunteers. We’re grateful for your support that allows us to continue to bring you the news, music and entertainment programs you know and love.
Classical Music this week
If you’re partial to music from the 17th and 18th centuries, we’ve got it for you this week on Arizona Encore. Bach and Handel will be the modern composers Sunday at noon on Classical KNAU. We’ll have performances from The Phoenix Chorale and also the modern renaissance vocal ensemble from Phoenix, Helios.
Broadcast concerts by the Chicago Symphony continue Monday on Symphony Night. World-renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma joins the CSO and Music Director Riccardo Muti for the second cello concerto by Dimitri Shostakovitch. The all-Russian program continues with highlights from Sergei Prokovfiev ballet Romeo and Juliet.

Visitors last week saw the park’s first successful hatchling stretch its wings and stumble out of its nesting cave on a sweeping red-rock cliff in a sighting that was confirmed later by park biologists. Learn more at KNAU.org.
Earth Notes: Stoic Cider

Coconino NF To Instate Temporary Traffic Cap In Lockett Meadow
Forest staff will limit traffic on Forest Road 552 to 100 vehicles at a time starting this weekend. Vehicles wishing to travel on the road once the cap has been reached will need to wait until others leave. Learn more at KNAU.org.
Federal Bill Could Bring Relief To Communities Affected By NGS Closure
A bill in Congress would help rebuild economies that rely on the Navajo Generating Station. It comes as NGS is expected to shut down mid-November, leaving uncertainty about how communities, mainly the Navajo Nation and Page, will survive economically. Learn more at KNAU.org.
