NAU student groups, community organizations celebrated Día de los Muertos at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church

FLAGSTAFF — A variety of NAU student groups and community organizations celebrated Día de los Muertos at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church & Cultural Center on Nov. 4, 2017 in Flagstaff.

The second annual late afternoon event included mariachi music and dance performances, sugar skull decorating, a kid’s craft table, free food, piñata bashing, ofrenda displays, face painting and fundraisers presented by NAU’s Mariachi Mar y Sol, Kappa Delta Chi sorority, Gamma Alpha Omega sorority, Omega Delta Phi fraternity, Hermanas — United for Change, No More Deaths / No Más Muertes, Le Fe, M.E.Ch.A. and Art and Cultural Advocacy Association.

The event was also supported by the Coconino Hispanic Advisory Council (CHAC), Flagstaff Nuestras Raíces, Ballet Folkorico de Colores de Flagstaff and Latino Outdoors.
