Resource Library for Educators

Did you know that the Coconino County Education Service Agency (CCESA) has a resource library for educators? Educators are able to check-out professional reading materials, science equipment, STEM kits, and much more! Find more information at:

High School Teachers are invited to attend and participate in the Annual Meeting of the Arizona Physiological Society (AZPS) to be held on October 5th – 6th, 2018.  This year’s meeting is going to be held at the Arizona State University in Tempe. The chapter will provide four $200 awards to HS teachers to cover costs for travel, AZPS membership, and meeting registration. Find more information at: https://www.azps.life/hs-teacher-award/


Annual 4th Grade Water Ethics Contest
4th grade classes are invited to participate in this contest in which students demonstrate the principle of responsible water use through artwork and essays. Winners will receive an in-class party. Teachers of winning entries will receive a check for $300, $200, or $100. All submissions may be used in promoting water stewardship throughout Northern Arizona. Deadline is October 30, 2018. Find more information here.

September 8th Rover Ruckus will be launched!

AZ and NM FIRST Tech Challenge is excited to offer 10 qualifying tournaments in Arizona and New Mexico spread out from early November to mid February, leading up to the Championship February 23 in Flagstaff. Teams may register for their first qualifying tournament now until 2nd event registration opens on September 13. Find out more here.

Food Rescuers: STEM Innovations to Reduce Food Waste
National Day of Design (November 8, 2018) returns with a Mission for students of all grade levels to design solutions for eliminating food waste in their school’s cafeteria. This innovative design challenge encourages real-world critical thinking, communication, teamwork, and overall Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) skills while connecting students to a larger national movement.” The standards-aligned Mission can be downloaded for free at: www.nationaldayofdesign.com.
