United States Congressman
Tom O'Halleran, Representing the first District of Arizona

Dear Friend,

It has been a busy month. In addition to hosting my 20th town hall of the year, we have passed some important legislation for Arizonans, and I introduced a bipartisan, bicameral bill to repeal outdated, hostile laws targeting Native Americans. I wanted to make sure you saw some of the headlines and give you an update on the progress I am making on a number of issues important to our congressional district.

First, I am proud that the House of Representatives unanimously passed my bill to allow federal court to be held in Flagstaff and Yuma:

KTARUS House passes O’Halleran bill to expand federal court access for Arizonans

Pinal Central: O’Halleran Bill would make judicial system more accessible in Arizona

I also introduced legislation that repeals outdated laws that target Native Americans:

KNAU: Some in Congress Aim to Repeal Old Laws that Discriminate Against Native Americans

Capital JournalLegislators introduce bill to repeal antiquated, hostile laws directed toward Native Americans

I am also fighting efforts to open up uranium mining near the Grand Canyon and oil/gas drilling near the Petrified Forest:

Cronkite News: House panel OKs bills to rein in mining around Grand Canyon, elsewhere

Tucson Star: Environmental groups sue to block oil/gas leases near Petrified Forest in Arizona

I am continuing to hold town halls across the district, and I hope you can attend. Take a moment to fill out the survey in this email to ensure you receive event updates in the future.

Sincerely,
