UWNA Launches COVID-19 Fund
Hello,
We at the United Way of Northern Arizona (UWNA) hope that this message finds you well during these turbulent times.
Today we launched the UWNA COVID-19 Fund, an emergency campaign to help those organizations providing basic needs to our friends and neighbors as we cope with the fallout from the coronavirus.
Although there currently is a limited amount of confirmed cases in our region, the impact of this virus is already being felt in our communities. Schools have closed. Many businesses have temporarily shut their doors or are operating on a limited basis. Our social safety nets are being tested.
When we face emergencies like this, it is up to us to ‘Live United’ and support those who need us most.
All donations to the fund will benefit local nonprofit, government or faith-based organizations that are on the front lines, aiding those disproportionately impacted by this pandemic. The fund is designed to complement the work of public health officials and expand local capacity to address all aspects of the outbreak as efficiently as possible.
In that spirit, we are making sure that organizations that need every minute of their day to help others aren’t bogged down with administrative tasks to apply for these funds. Instead, our Community Investment Volunteers will proactively identify potential grant recipients, get guidance from community advisors, and recommend where grants will go.
Please help us assist the organizations and community partners providing basic needs and easing the impact of the coronavirus by giving to the UWNA COVID-19 Fund today.
