Flagstaff answered the call.
Because of hundreds of volunteers throughout our community, we now have thousands of sandbags ready to go in case of flooding as a result of the Museum Fire. We can’t thank everyone enough for this tremendous effort.
We are now winding down operations and have moved the Volunteer Coordinating Center from the County Health and Human Services building on King Street to the UWNA offices at 1515 E. Cedar Ave. in Flagstaff. The volunteer line remains open at 928.773.9813, ext. 219.
That doesn’t mean our work is done. We are asking our volunteers to be on “stand-by.” If we receive further calls for help, our crisis response team will spring into action and we’ll reach out to volunteers again to help our friends and neighbors.
We are so grateful for the County and the City of Flagstaff, who partnered with us in this effort; the restaurants who fed the volunteers; and the businesses and organizations who brought whole teams of people to fill sandbags.
We are always looking for more members for our Crisis Response Team and if you’d like to become a volunteer, you can access our sign up form here.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!
