We’ll be recognizing the hard-working workplace campaign coordinators, volunteers, partners, and supporters who make United Way of Northern Arizona’s work possible. We’ll also hold a supply drive and fun activity for the KinderCamp™ program.

We’re asking luncheon attendees to bring items needed by KinderCamp, our signature summer initiative to help preschoolers get ready academically, socially, and emotionally for the first day of kindergarten.

Here are the supplies needed by KinderCamp:

White copy paper

Color markers

Wooden clothespins

Sheet protectors

Tissue boxes

Stickers (any kind!)

Clorox wipes

Googly eyes

At the event, we’ll ask each table to create a centerpiece out of the supplies they bring. The centerpieces will be judged and each member of the winning table will receive a Scenic Skyride ticket courtesy of Arizona Snowbowl!

We’ll also be installing the new members of the United Way of Northern Arizona Board of Directors.

Many thanks to APS for their sponsorship of our event.

Celebrating Black History Beyond February

As we say goodbye to February we also conclude another Black History Month, and we also know learning about the contributions of Black individuals and communities shouldn’t be limited to just 29 days.

Take this opportunity to learn more and dig deeper throughout the year. Explore documentaries or books dedicated to the Black experiences; seek out and support Black-owned businesses; discuss issues of racial justice and inequity with family, friends, and colleagues.

By learning and actively working towards a more just future, we can ensure that Black History Month isn’t just a February observance, but part of committing to building a more equitable society all year long.
