FLAGSTAFF — As part of the City’s annual Road Repair and Street Safety (RRSS) program, lane closures are scheduled on N Highway 89 between N Country Club Dr and old Rte 66 for overlay removal and pavement marking. The work is schedule to take place from Monday, Sept. 29 – Wednesday, Oct. 1 between the hours of 5 a.m. – 5 p.m. Drivers in the area should expect delays.
Work is also scheduled throughout the community under the RRSS program. Ongoing asphalt pavement installation has been completed on streets across town that have been targeted for maintenance, with utility work and pavement marking still to be completed. Additionally, full rebuilds of W Stevanna Way in the Coconino Estates neighborhood and of N Verde St in the downtown area will necessitate partial closures in October.
The City and its contractor are taking all possible measures to minimize the impact of this work on local residents and businesses. The annual Road Repair and Street Safety program is funded by Flagstaff voters’ 2014 approval of Proposition 406, a $100 million, 20-year dedicated sales tax for road repair and street safety projects.
