Flagstaff High School celebrates 2019 Hispanic Convocation

FLAGSTAFF — The stage was crowded from one side to the other with students wearing colorful sarape sashes during the annual Hispanic Convocation held May 16, 2019 in the Hurley Theatre at Flagstaff High School. Meanwhile, friends and family members were encouraged to take photos of the soon-to-be high school graduates.

The event included opening remarks by Sebastían Soto Duarte, the invocation by Pastor Carlos Mendez, the keynote address by District 2 Supervisor Elizabeth “Liz” Archuleta and the presentation of the students by Celdonío Rodriguez.

Principal Tony Cullen then led the presentation of the traditional colorful graduation sarape sashes to the students along with Susie Mendez, Assistant Principal Robin Pete, Assistant Director Wm. James Donner and Athletic Director Jeannine Brandel.
